If you have software people on your development team, they already may be familiar with Agile terms. Then you may need to explain to them that for courseware, we have had to modify Agile somewhat. Because we apply both Agile and Lean, other terms will be there that they may not have used before.
For example when using Scrum, instead of sprints, for training practitioners we just say iterations. Instead of a Scrum Master, we just say Lean-Agile Coach. It has worked for us.
Emphasize that the reason you tend toward the more generalized terms is that you’re using a hybrid approach of Scrum and Kanban and Lean. So we’re not sending people off to a paid Scrum course to be certified. The differences in terms are minor, so the translation should not impede their ability to catch on and contribute quickly.
