In the Agile Scrum practices there should be a product owner.

Product Owners do the following:

  • Has the responsibility for the backlog and ensuring it is prioritized.

  • Represents the customer to the development team.

  • Must be available to the team at any time, but especially during iteration planning meetings and iteration review meetings.

  • Act as the stakeholder’s representative.

  • Prioritizes the courseware product backlog.

  • Aggregate inputs from customers, stakeholders and other interested parties to form a single view of the prioritized backlog.

  • Accept or not accept work results of the development team.

  • Update priorities at the end of every iteration cycle.

  • Balance the interests of competing stakeholders.
