Lean-Agile works for related product development too. This can include higher end simulations and games that use 3D models and game engines. For example, moving to daily builds of game engine code instead of the prior practice of much less frequent builds. Other related product development can include complex simulations that need software code crafted for the training product. It works for eLearning, mobile learning and blended instructor-led training learning experiences.
The Lean-Agile approach can even help improve technical writing projects. The smaller batch size for tech writing would change from the manual or chapter to the data module (for S1000D), or the topic (for DITA), or the work package (for MIL STD 40051), or some similarly-sized chunk for custom schemas.
